A COMMUNITY MOMENT

Here at Cacio e Pepe, we’re not afraid of a little alone time. We are fiercely independent thinkers, feelers, and diners (see forthcoming blog post, “Solo at the Bar”). That said, we know our best work happens when we’re together.

Food is our greatest bonding agent. Convening around a table over dishes made with love can lead to the deepest, most meaningful revelations (and relationships) of our lives. Cacio e Pepe was created to marry that disarmed-by-a-meal feeling with the powerful guidance held in Tarot.

We’ve already provided notes on how to use Cacio e Pepe as a tool for self-discovery. Sometimes that discovery is meant to happen while we’re alone in the quiet morning hours, and sometimes it’s meant to happen over dinner with our closest friends. Since we all know sharing is caring (except for French fries—please order your own), we came up with a few suggestions on how to use these cards to connect with others:

  • Host a potluck (Three of Cups!) where you invite guests to bring a dish that represents something they’re working through at the moment. While you’re at it, bring out the cards at cocktail hour or as a palate cleanser between dinner and dessert for a little round table pull.

  • Take the deck out to your local dive bar, farmers market, or coffee shop and pull a card with a new friend.

  • Use (with caution) at your next extended family gathering as an ice breaker.

  • When reading cards in a group, riff on your own “Works Cited” references.

  • Start a group text thread where you share daily pulls.

You don’t have to be a tarot reader to pull tarot cards. The only thing it requires is curiosity, You can take or leave what messages come your way…but if you pull Chocolate Bar, maybe hang on to that joy ride.

We’ve said it once and we’ll say it again (and probably again, then maybe once more): this is your deck, your process and the scaffolding of your own dreams.
